Effect of Bushen Huoxue Prescription Combined with Carbidopa and Levodopa Sustained-Release Tablets on Levels of Adiponectin,TNF-α and IL-6 in Serum and Cognitive Function of Patients with Parkinson Disease
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Bushen Huoxue prescription combined with carbidopa and levodopa sustained- release tablets on levels of adiponectin, tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) and Interleukin(IL- 6) in serum and cognitive function of patients with Parkinson disease(PD). Methods: A total of 72 cases of PD patients were selected and divided into the treatment group 1 and the treatment group 2 according to the random number table method,with 36 cases in each group; 50 people who had physical examinations in the same period and received healthy results were selected and included in the control group. The treatment group 1 was treated with carbidopa and levodopa sustained-release tablets,and the treatment group 2 was treated with carbidopa and levodopa sustained- release tablets and Bushen Huoxue prescription. Changes in levels of adiponectin,TNF- α and IL- 6 in serum in the two groups before and after treatment were compared. The cognitive function was evaluated by Mini- Mental State Examination(MMSE). Results: Before treatment, levels of adiponectin in the treatment group 1 and the treatment group 2 were decreased when compared with those in the control group, and levels of TNF- α and IL- 6 were increased, differences being significant(P<0.05); there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of adiponectin,TNF-α and IL-6 between the treatment group 1 and the treatment group 2(P>0.05). After treatment,levels of adiponectin in the treatment group 1 and the treatment group 2 were increased when compared with those before treatment,and levels of TNF-α and IL-6 were decreased,the difference being significant(P<0.05);level of adiponectin in the treatment group 2 was higher than that in the treatment group 1,and levels of TNF- α and IL- 6 were lower than those in the treatment group 1, differences being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment,when compared scores of immediate memory,language,orientation,attention and calculation,and delayed recall as well as the total scores in MMSE scale between the treatment group 1 and the treatment group 2,there was no significance being found in the difference(P>0.05). After treatment,each score and the total score in MMSE scale in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the increase of each score and the total score in the treatment group 2 was more significant than that in the treatment group 1(P<0.05). Conclusion:Bushen Huoxue prescription combined with carbidopa and levodopa sustained- release tablets can effectively enhance serum adiponectin of PD patients,reduce inflammation level and improve cognitive function. It has better curative effect than the simple application of carbidopa and levodopa sustained-release tablets.
