Abstract: Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of Jinlianhua granules combined with amoxicillin clavulanate potassium sequential therapy on the treatment of acute tonsillitis in children. Methods: A total of 105 children with acute tonsillitis were selected and divided into the treatment group(55 cases) and the control group(50 cases) according to random number table method. The control group received amoxicillin clavulanate potassium sequential therapy, and the treatment group additionally received Jinlianhua granules based on amoxicillin clavulanate potassium sequential therapy. Both groups were treated for a course of 10 days. The clinical effects,the changes in Chinese medicine syndrome scores and levels of serum inflammatory factors including hypersensitive C- reactive protein(hs- CRP), interleukin- 6(IL- 6) and tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment,the total effective rate of clinical effect was 98.18% in the treatment group and 88.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the regression time of tonsil redness, pharyngeal pain, fever and cough in the treatment group was respectively shorter than that in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the Chinese medicine syndrome scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the syndrome score in the treatment group was smaller than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of serum hs-CRP,IL- 6 and TNF- α in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05);the above three levels in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of Jinlianhua granules combined with amoxicillin clavulanate potassium sequential therapy has a define therapeutic effect on the treatment of acute tonsillitis in children, which can relieve the clinical symptoms, shorten the improvement time of symptoms and reduce the degree of inflammation.
