Clinical Study on Kidney-Supplementing and Bone-Strengthening Method for Senile Patients After Surgery for Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fractures
Abstract:Objective:To discuss the effect of kidney-supplementing and bone-strengthening method onbone metabolism, fracture healing and bone mineral density of senile patients after surgery for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. Methods:A total of 78 cases of senile patients after surgery for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractureswere selected for a prospective study and weredivided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method,with 39 cases in each group.After vertebroplasty,both groups were given routine symptomatic treatment,and the study group was additionally treated with kidney- supplementing and bone- strengthening method. Clinical effects and fracture healing during the first six weeks after the surgery were observed in the two groups. The contents of procollagen type I N- propeptide(PINP), β- collagen special sequence(β- CrossLaps), and N- MID osteocalcin(N- MID) in serum as well as lumbar bone mineral density were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results:After treatment, clinical effect grading in the study group was obviously better than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the total effective rate in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment,the fracture healing rate in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05),and bone mineral density of L1~4 in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). The contents of PINP,β-Crosslaps,and N-MID in serum in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Kidneysupplementing and bone- strengthening method has a good curative effect on senile patients after surgery for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures,which is helpful to promote fracture healing,reduce bone metabolic conversion,increase bone mineral density and improve osteoporosis.
