Abstract：This paper introduces the clinical experience of treating rheumatoid arthritis by Professor WEN Chengping from the spleen. Professor WEN Chengping believes that the core pathogenesis of patients with rheumatoid arthritis is the spleen deficiency with binding of dampness，toxin，and stasis；he put forwards the staging syndrome differentiation and treatment from the spleen. In the pre- state of rheumatoid arthritis， it is mainly to activate the spleen， dispel wind and eliminate dampness；in the active stage，it is mainly to detoxify，unblock the collaterals，nourish the liver and the kidney. Professor WEN creates Yunpi Qufeng Chushi prescription and Yunpi Jiedu Tongluo prescription，and seeks for the cause carefully and modifies the prescription flexibly according to clinical features of different patients.
