Abstract： The treatment of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) combined with two- phrase Chinese medicine therapy for adenomyosis (AM) was put forward based on postoperative adverse reactions of HIFU treating AM，slow clinical symptom remission，difficult absorption of necrosis lesions，and effects of HIFU on Chinese medicine disease mechanism and syndrome manifestations in patients. Through the previous observations，it was found that the effects of HIFU treatment on the disease mechanism of AM were mainly reflected in the short-term changes in the syndrome manifestations that came after the patients experienced intense heat during HIFU. Based on the obviousness degree of signs of heat-accumulationand obstruction， the authors propose a staging treatment which includes early stage of ablation treatment and late stage of ablation treatment. Early curative effect is showed according to clinical observation. It can effectively relieve postoperative discomfort and improve clinical symptoms of dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia，thereby improving the curative effect of HIFU on AM.
