Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Guanxinning tablets combined with donepezil hydrochloride tablets for vascular dementia(VD). Methods：A total of 60 cases of VD patients were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method， with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with donepezil hydrochloride tablets，and the treatment group was additionally treated with Guanxinning tablets based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 12 weeks. The scores of Mini Mental Status Examination (MMSE)， Activities of Daily Living(ADL) and neurological function impairment before and after treatment as well as the incidences of adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results：After treatment，the scores of MMSE and ADL in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the scores in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05)；the scores of neurological function impairment in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 6.67% in the control group and 3.33% in the treatment group， there being no significant difference between the two groups(P＞0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Guanxinning tablets combined with donepezil hydrochloride tablets for VD can significantly improve the cognitive function， neurological function and activities of daily living of patients，with high safety.
