Therapeutic Effect of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina Combined with Jiannao Powder for Children with Cerebral Palsy and Its Effect on Cerebral Blood Perfusion
Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of acupuncture, moxibustion and tuina combined with Jiannao powder for children with cerebral palsy and its effect on cerebral blood perfusion. Methods:A total of 90 cases of children with cerebral palsy were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 45 cases in each group, during the treatment period, 1 case dropped out in each of the 2 groups, with 44 cases in each. The control group was given routine rehabilitation and western medicine treatment, and the observation group was additionally treated with acupuncture, moxibustion and Chinese medicine Jiannao powder based on the treatment of the control group. Clinical effects were observed in the two groups. Before and after treatment, changes in scores of Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM-88),developmental quotient (DQ) in Gesell Developmental Schedules, oral motor function scores,Activity of Daily Living (ADL),and cerebral blood perfusion [arterial blood flow velocity (VP),blood flow resistance index (RI)] were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 86.36% in the observation group, higher than that of 63.64% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of five functions in GMFM- 88 in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, scores of DQ and oral motor function were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the above two scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, scores of ADL in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the ADL score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). After treatment,VP and RI in the observation group were increased when compared with those before treatment, differences being significant(P<0.05), and the comparison of VP and PRT in the control group before treatment and after treatment showed no significance in differences(P>0.05);after treatment,VP and RI in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture, moxibustion and tuina combined with Jiannao powder can improve the clinical effect of children with cerebral palsy, and enhance motor function, language, activities of daily living, and cerebral blood flow.
