Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture at Tousanshen points combined with embedding needle with source-connecting point combination for insomnia of non-interaction between the heart and the kidney type after stroke. Methods：A total of 60 cases of patients with insomnia of non-interaction between the heart and the kidney type after stroke were divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method，with 30 cases in each group. The control group was given acupuncture at routine points， and the study group was given acupuncture at Tousanshen points combined with embedding needle with source- connecting point combination. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)，Mean Sleep Latency(MSL)，and negative emotion scores of Self- rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Selfrating Depression Scale(SDS) before and after treatment as well as the clinical effects and adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results：The total clinical effective rate was 93.33% in the study group and 73.33% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of PSQI scores and MSL between the two groups(P＞0.05)；after treatment，the PSQI scores and MSL in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the PSQI score and MSL in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of SAS and SDS between the two groups(P＞0.05)；after treatment，the scores of SAS and SDS were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the two scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 10.00% in the study group and 16.67% in the control group， there being no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). Conclusion： Acupuncture at Tousanshen points combined with embedding needle with source- connecting point combination has a significant curative effect in treating insomnia of non- interaction between the heart and the kidney type after stroke， which can significantly improve sleep quality，relieve negative emotions including anxiety and depression with good safety.
