Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Tongfengling tang combined with diclofenac sodium for acute gout. Methods: A total of 72 cases of patients with acute gout were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 36 cases in each group. The control group was treated with diclofenac sodium enteric sustained release capsules, and the observation group was additionally treated with Tongfengling tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for seven days. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated. Before and after treatment, the scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) for pain and Chinese medicine syndromes in the two groups were assessed, and the levels of white blood cell count(WBC),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) and Creactive protein(CRP) were detected. During treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions was recorded. Results:The total clinical effective rate was 94.44% in the observation group and 75.00% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of VAS scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of VAS for pain in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the VAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P< 0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of Chinese medicine syndrome scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the Chinese medicine syndrome score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of WBC,ESR and CRP between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of WBC,ESR and CRP in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). During treatment, there was no obvious adverse reaction in the two groups. Conclusion: Tongfengling tang combined with diclofenac sodium for acute gout has a better curative effect than that of simple diclofenac sodium, and can effectively improve clinical symptoms and relieve inflammatory responses with no obvious adverse reaction.
