Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Jieyu Anshen tang combined with clozapine for patients with schizophrenia and its effect on cognitive function of patients. Methods：A total of 120 cases of patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into the control group and the study group， with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with clozapine，and the study group was additionally treated with Jieyu Anshen tang based on the treatment of the control group. After 12 weeks of treatment，the clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated. Before treatment and 4 and 12 weeks after treatment， the scores of Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS) and A Battery of Com- puterized Cognitive Test(ACCT) in the two groups were compared. Results：The total effective rate was 96.7% in the study group and 86.7% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). At 4 and 12 weeks after treatment，PANSS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and ACCT scores were increased(P＜ 0.05)；PANSS scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group at the same time points(P＜0.05)；ACCT scores were higher(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of clozapine combined with Jieyu Anshen tang for schizophrenia can significantly improve the clinical effect，reduce the course of disease，and enhance their cognitive function.
