Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of modified Xiaoyao powder combined with laser for chloasma of liver qi stagnation type. Methods：A total of 80 cases of patients with chloasma of liver qi stagnation type were divided into the control group and the experiment group according to the odd and even number of their admission sequence，with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Q- switched Nd： YAG Laser， and the experiment group was additionally treated with modified Xiaoyao powder based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three months. The scores of skin lesions and quality of life before and after treatment and the clinical effects in the two groups were compared. The adverse reactions were recorded. Results：After treatment，the scores of areas and colors as well as the total scores of skin lesions in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the scores of area and color as well as the total score of skin lesions in the experiment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of dermatology life quality index(DLQI) in the two groups were inecreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the scores of DLQI in the experiment group was higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 95.00% in the experiment group，higher than that of 80.00% in the control group(P＜0.05). During treatment， there was no adverse reaction between the two groups. Conclusion： Modified Xiaoyao powder combined with laser for chloasma of liver qi stagnation type is helpful to recover the injured skin and improve quality of life，with good safety.
