Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of point application of Chinese herbs assisting western medicine on bronchial asthma in children in remission stage. Methods： A total of 105 children with bronchial asthma in remission stage were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 53 and 52 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with routine western medicine，and the observation group was additionally treated with point application of Chinese herbs based on the treatment of the control group. After treatment，the clinical effects，disease degree classification，lung function and serum levels of inflammatory factors in the two groups were observed. Results：The total effective rate in the observation group was better than that in the control group， the difference being significant (χ 2=4.456， P=0.035). After treatment， the severity of disease in the two groups was less than that before treatment (P＜0.05)；after treatment，the severity of disease in the observation group was less than that in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment， the lung function indexes， including forced vital capacity (FVC)，forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and the ratio of forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC)， in the two groups were higher than those before treatment(P＜0.05)； after treatment， the above indexes in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of serum interleukin-5 (IL-5) in the two groups were lower than those before treatment，and the levels of serum interleukin-10(IL-10) were higher(P＜0.05)；after treatment，the level of serum IL- 5 in the observation group was lower than that in the control group，and the level of IL-10 was higher (P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of point application of Chinese herbs assisting western medicine for bronchial asthma in children in remission stage has a definite curative effect， which can effectively relieve the condition of children，improve the lung function and reduce the inflammatory responses of the body.
