Effect of Acupuncture at Points Corresponding to Knee Pain on Pain Relief and Knee Joint Function Recovery in Patients with GradeⅢInjury of Medial Collateral Ligament of Knee Joint
Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of the therapy of acupuncture at points corresponding to knee pain on pain relief and knee joint function recovery in patients with medial collateral ligament injury of knee joint. Methods: A total of 90 patients with grade Ⅲ injury of medial collateral ligament of knee joint were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with ligament suture, and the treatment group was treated with acupuncture at points corresponding to knee pain. After four weeks of treatment, the changes of lysholm scores of knee joint, scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) of pain and joint clearance at knee valgus stress position in the two groups before and after treatment were observed, and the clinical effects and treatment safety in the two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group, higher than that of 75.6% in the control group (P<0.05). After one,two and four weeks of treatment, the lysholm scores of knee joints in the two groups were gradually increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),the VAS scores were gradually decreased(P<0.05),and the joint clearance at the knee valgus stress position was decreased(P<0.05);after one,two and four weeks of treatment, the VAS scores of knee joint in the treatment group were lower than those at the same time in the control group(P<0.05); after one and two weeks of treatment, the joint clearance at the knee valgus stress position in the treatment group was larger than that at the same time in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of acupuncture at points corresponding to knee pain for grade Ⅲ medial collateral ligament injury of knee joint can achieve a good healing effect and has high safety.
