Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Shi Liang Cha of She Medicine on the treatment of functional constipation in children. Methods: A total of 80 children with functional constipation were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to random number table, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with bifidobacterium quadruplex viable tablets, and the treatment group was additionally treated with oral administration of Shi Liang Cha of She Medicine. The treatment course of both groups was 28 days. The clinical effects were observed, and the Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment and the recurrence rates two months after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of clinical effect was 95.0% in the treatment group, higher than that of 72.5% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the Chinese medicine syndrome scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P< 0.05);the score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Two months after treatment, the patients were followed up by face- to- face consultations and telephones. The recurrence rate was 5.3% (2/38) in the treatment group, and 41.4% (12/29) in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:Shi Liang Cha of She Medicine has a good effect on clearing heat, regulating qi and strengthening the spleen, and on children with functional constipation, which can improve clinical symptoms with lower recurrence rate.
