Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Qianjin Weijing tang combined with routine western medicine for senile pneumonia. Methods:A total of 116 cases of patients with senile pneumonia were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 58 cases in each group. The control group was given routine western medicine, and the observation group was given routine western medicine and modified Qianjin Weijing tang. Clinical effect, the remission time of symptoms, blood routine and levels of inflammatory factors in serum were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 96.55 % in the observation group, higher than that of 84.48% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). The remission time of oppression and shortness of breath, the disappearance time of cough and expectoration and lung rales, and fever subsidence time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, white blood cell count(WBC) and percentage of neutrophil(NEUT) in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the two indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6) and interleukin-6(IL-10) in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Modified Qianjin Weijing tang combined with routine western medicine has a defined curative effect in the treatment of senile pneumonia, which can effectively promote the remission of clinical symptoms, reduce WBC and NEUT,and relieve body inflammatory responses.
