Abstract： The study on constitution classification is the key point of Chinese medicine constitution research， and the premise of developing the constitution theory and its application. Through the historical retrospection and analysis on current situation of the study on constitution classification，the problems to be solved in the study are considered and analyzed. It is believed that there are urgent problems to be solved in current study on constitution classification， such as supercategory induction and logic confusion， which include incomplete dimensions and lack of classification， confusion of constitution physiology and disease pathology， confusion of constitution types and syndrome types， confusion of physical types and pathological products， confusion of constitution recuperation and treatment of disease， and inaccurate constitution identification，etc. Thus，the construction of multidimensional constitution theory system is put forward.
