Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Zhixuan tang combined with betahistine mesylate tablets on vertigo syndrome. Methods： A total of 96 patients with vertigo syndrome were selected and divided into the observation group and the observation group according to the random number table method，with 48 cases in each group. The control group was treated with betahistine mesylate tablets；The observation group took Zhixuan Decoction on the basis of the control group.Both groups were treated for seven days. Before and after treatment，the Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were evaluated. The adverse reactions during treatment and disappearance time of vertigo were recorded. The patients were followed up for one month，and the recurrence of symptoms in the two groups was counted. Results：The total effective rate was 95.83% in the observation group and was 83.33% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the Chinese medicine syndrome score in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). The average disappearance time of vertigo in the observation group was(3.66±0.58) days，and was(4.73±0.69) days in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After twomonth follow- up，the recurrence rate was 5.00% in the observation group，and was 41.67% in the control group，there being no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). During the treatment， only some patients in the two groups had mild gastrointestinal discomfort and disappeared without treatment. Conclusion： The therapy of Zhixuan tang combined with betahistine mesylate tablets for vertigo syndrome can improve the clinical effects and the main clinical symptoms，accelerate the recovery of the disease，and reduce the recurrence rates，with no obvious adverse reactions.
