Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of modified Jichuan jian combined with acupuncture and moxibustion on functional constipation and its effect on intestinal neurotransmitters and colonic transit function. Methods:A total of 60 functional constipation patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected for prospective study and divided into two groups according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. Both groups were guided to adjust their diets and defecate correctly. The control group was additionally treated with lactulose oral solution, and the study group was additionally treated with Jichuan jian combined with acupuncture and moxibustion based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for four weeks, and the clinical effects were determined after treatment. Before and after treatment, the colonic transit function in the two groups was compared by colonic transit test, and the serum contents of nitric oxide(NO),vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP) and somatostatin(SS) in the two groups were compared. Results:After treatment, the colonic transit function in the two groups was improved when compared with that before treatment, and the colon transit function in the study group was better than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of NO, VIP and SS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and above levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the average score of symptoms was(5.26±1.17) points in the study group, and(7.09 ± 1.45) points in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). The difference in the clinical effect between the two groups was significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of modified Jichuan jian combined with acupuncture and moxibustion for functional constipation has a good clinical effect, which can effectively reduce the serum intestinal neurotransmitter content and improve the colonic transit function of patients.
