Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of the therapy of wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with Taohong Siwu tang on joint function rehabilitation after surgery for tibial plateau fracture. Methods： A total of 64 patients with tibial plateau fracture were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 32 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Taohong Siwu tang，and the observation group was treated with wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with Taohong Siwu tang. The excellent rates of rehabilitation in the two groups were observed. Before and after treatment，the knee scores in Hospital for Special Surgery(HSS) and scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) in the two groups were compared. After treatment，the scores of ability of daily living，quality of life and fracture healing effect in the two groups were compared. Results： The excellent rate of rehabilitation was 96.87% in the observation group， higher than that of 84.38% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the HSS scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment，and the HSS score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05)； the VAS scores in the two groups three weeks and three months after surgery were decreased when compared with those before surgery， and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those of the same period in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of quality of life and ability of daily living in the observation group were higher than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the scores of density，volume and edge of facture callus and edge of broken ends of the indexes of facture healing effect in the observation group were higher than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The combination therapy of wrist-ankle acupuncture and Taohong Siwu tang for postoperative rehabilitation of tibial plateau fracture can relieve the early pain，improve the effect of postoperative rehabilitation，knee function of affected limbs，ability of daily living and quality of life，prevent the adhesion and stiffness in joints after surgery，and accelerate the process of fracture healing.
