Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Qianlie Tongyu tang combined with western medicine on scores of National Institutes of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index(NIH-CPSI) and levels of testosterone(T) and prolactin(PRL) in serum in patients with early prostatitis. Methods:A total of 100 cases of patients with early prostatitis were selected as the research objects , and divided into the control group and the study group according to different treatment plans , with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with western medicine, and the study group was additionally treated with Qianlie Tongyu tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for two months. Before and after treatment, the changes in NIH- CPSI scores, erectile function scores and white blood cell in expressed prostatic secretion(EPS-WBC) in the two groups were compared. Clinical effects in the two groups were observed. The changes in the levels of serum T and PRL in the two groups were compared. Results:After treatment,NIH-CPSI scores and EPS-WBC in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and erectile function scores were increased; the NIH-CPSI score and EPS-WBC in the study group were lower or fewer than those in the control group, and the erectile function score was higher, differences being significant(P<0.05). The total effective rate of clinical effect was 92.0% in the study group and 78.0% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum T and PRL in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment, and the above two levels in the study group were higher than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of Qianlie Tongyu tang combined with western medicine for prostatitis can effectively improve the curative effect, alleviate clinical symptoms and improve erectile function.
