Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of retention enema with Pingxi tang combined with probiotics on postoperative recurrence rate and Chinese medicine syndrome in patients after surgery of intestinal adenomatous polyp. Methods:A total of 80 cases of patients with intestinal adenomatous polyp were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method,with 40 cases in each group. Both groups were given endoscopic resection of intestinal polyp. After the resection, the control group was treated with probiotics, and the observation group was treated with retention enema with Pingxi tang combined with probiotics. Changes in Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after surgery,as well as the postoperative recurrence rate and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:Four weeks after surgery,scores of abdominal distending pain,sloppy stool, hematochezia, decreased appetite, lassitude of spirit, and fear of cold in the two groups were lower than those before surgery,and the above six scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,differences being significant(P<0.05). The postoperative recurrence rate was 7.50% in the observation group,lower than that of 25.00% in the control group,the difference being significant(P<0.05). Four weeks after surgery,the incidence of adverse reactions was 7.5% in the observation group,including one case of abdominal distension and pain,one case of constipation,and one case of infection; the incidence of adverse reactions was 27.5% in the control group, including five cases of abdominal distension and pain, four cases of constipation, and two cases of infection. There was significance being found in the comparison of incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of retention enema with Pingxi tang combined with probiotics can relieve the clinical symptoms of intestinal adenomatous polyp and prevent its postoperative recurrence with high safety.
