Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of applied behavior analysis combined with acupuncture at language areas of brain for autism. Methods:A total of 60 cases of children with autism were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number method, with 30 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with applied behavior analysis combined with acupuncture at language areas of brain, and the control group was treated with acupuncture at language areas of brain. Before and after treatment, the scores of Childhood Autism Rating Scale(CARS), Chinese version of Psycho- educational Profile(C- PEP) of children with autism spectrum disorder, and Autism Behavior Checklist(ABC) in the two groups were compared. Results: Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of CARS and ABC between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of CARS and ABC in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the scores of CARS and ABC in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of C- PEP scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, each score in C-PEP in the two groups was increased when compared with that before treatment, and each score in C-PEP in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Applied behavior analysis combined with acupuncture at language areas has a good effect in treating children with autism, which can effectively relieve their symptoms of autism and improve their ability to adapt to society.
