Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of meridian tuina combined with Chinese herbal fumigation for pain in neck，shoulder，waist and leg. Methods：A total of 90 cases of patients with pain in neck，shoulder，waist and leg were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group，with 45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Chinese herbal fumigation， and the treatment group was treated with meridian tuina combined with Chinese herbal fumigation. After three months of treatment， the clinical effects， Chinese medicine syndrome scores， lumbar function， degree of pain and hemorheology in the two groups were compared. Results：The total clinical effective rate was 88.89% in the treatment group and 71.11% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference in the comparison of Chinese medicine syndrome scores of pain， swelling， limitation of limb function，and so on between the two groups(P＞0.05)；after treatment，the Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)， Oswestry Dysfunction Index(ODI) and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) between the two groups(P＞0.05)；after treatment，JOA scores in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and scores of ODI and VAS were decreased(P＜0.05)； JOA score in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05)， scores of ODI and VAS were lower(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of plasma viscosity， red cell volume and fibrinogen between the two groups(P＞0.05)；after treatment，the above indexes in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above indexes in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Meridian tuina combined with Chinese herbal fumigation has a definite curative effect on pain in neck，shoulder，waist and leg，which can significantly relieve the clinical symptoms and pain of patients，strengthen their joint function and improve their hemorheology.
