Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Yangyin Qufeng tang and infantile tuina combined with cetirizine hydrochloride for chronic cough of qi-yin deficiency type in children. Methods：A total of 160 cases of children with chronic cough of qi-yin deficiency type were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method，with 80 cases in each group. The control group was given cetirizine hydrochloride syrup， and the observation group was additionally treated with Yiqi Yangyin Qufeng tang and infantile tuina based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 10 days. Clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment，indexes of the lung function，as well as scores of daytime cough，nighttime cough and the Leicester Cough Questionnaire(LCQ) were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 97.50% in the observation group，higher than that of 87.50% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，scores of daytime cough and nighttime cough in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，forced vital capacity (FVC)，the forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1)，and peak expiratory flow(PEF) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and FVC，FEV1 and PEF in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，scores of physiology，psychology and society in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the three scores in the observation group were higher than those the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：In the treatment of children with chronic cough of qi-yin deficiency type， Yiqi Yangyin Qufeng tang and infantile tuina combined with cetirizine hydrochloride can enhance clinical effect and quality of life，strengthen their lung function，and improve symptoms of cough.
