Clinical Study of Yiqi Jianpi Tang Combined with Western Medicine Aerosol Inhalation for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease of Dual Deficiency of Lung-Spleen Type in Stable Stage
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Yiqi Jianpi tang combined with western medicine aerosol inhalation on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) of dual deficiency of lung- spleen type in stable stage. Methods: A total of 56 cases of patients with COPD were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 28 cases in each group. The control group was treated with aerosol inhalation of salmeterol and fluticasone propionate, and the observation group was treated with the therapy of aerosol inhalation of salmeterol and fluticasone propionate combined with Yiqi Jianpi tang. Both groups were treated for three months. The clinical effects,Chinese medicine syndrome scores, scores of Saint George Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ) , distance of Six- Minute Walk Test (6MWT) , the levels of serum C-reactive protein(CRP) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and the differences of forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1) and the ratio of forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC) in the two groups were observed and compared. Results:The total clinical effective rate was 96.43% in the observation group, and 78.57% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of Chinese medicine syndrome scores between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the above scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of FVC,FEV1 and FEV1/FVC between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the above levels in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of SGRQ in symptoms, activity, and inpact on daily activities and total scores between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the above scores of SGRQ in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the comparison of distance of 6MWT and levels of CRP and TNF- α between the two groups(P> 0.05);after treatment, the distance of 6MWT in the two groups was increased when compared with that before treatment, and the levels of CRP and TNF-α were decreased(P<0.05),and the improvement of each index in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of Yiqi Jianpi tang combined with western medicine aerosol inhalation for patients with COPD of dual deficiency of lung- spleen type in stable stage can alleviate the respiratory symptoms, improve the clinical effect, reduce the inflammatory responses in airway, and improve pulmonary ventilation function.
