Abstract：After the discussion and analysis of greater yang wind stroke and greater yang cold damage from upward and downward movement of qi，this paper holds an opinion that the pathogenesis of greater yang wind stroke is the floating and discharging of yang qi because of the over ascent and dispersion of the liver qi caused by the wind. The pathological condition is the over ascent and dispersion of yang qi，with an upward total trend of qi movement. The pathogenesis of greater yang cold damage is yang stagnation caused by cold obstructing the freshy exterior，which is the disease of yang qi fails to ascend and dispersed timely. Its pathological condition is that yang qi fails to ascend and dispersed timely，with a downward total trend of qi movement.
