Effect of Yiqi Guben Tang on Immune Function and Quality of Life in Patients Under⁃ going Chemotherapy After Laparoscopic Radical Resection of Colorectal Cancer
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Yiqi Guben tang on immune function and quality of life in patients undergoing chemotherapy after laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer. Methods:A total of 68 cases of patients undergoing chemotherapy after radical resection of colorectal cancer were selected for prospective study, and were divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 34 cases in each group. After operation, both groups were given modified chemotherapy with oxaliplatin, fluorouracil and folic acid(FOLFOX6), and the study group was additionally treated with Yiqi Guben tang. The contents of CD3+,CD4+ and CD8+ in venous blood, the ratio of CD4 + to CD8 + and the scores of Karnofsky Scale(KPS) and Quality of Life Questionnaire in European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer-C30(EORTC QLQ-C30) before and after treatment as well as the degree of bone marrow suppression after treatment in the two groups were compared. Results:After treatment, the contents of CD3+ and CD4+ and CD4 +/CD8 + in the control group were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the content of CD8+ was increased(P<0.05);the contents of CD3+ and CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in the study group were increased(P<0.05), and the content of CD8+ was decreased(P<0.05);the contents of CD3+ and CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the content of CD8+ was lower(P<0.05). After treatment, the number of cases with grade III and IV bone marrow suppression in the study group was significantly smaller than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment,KPS scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P< 0.05),and EORTC QLQ-C30 scores were decreased(P<0.05);the KPS score in the study group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05), and the EORTC QLQ- C30 score was lower(P<0.05). Conclusion: Yiqi Guben tang has a good curative effect on improving immune function of patients undergoing chemotherapy after laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer, which can effectively relieve the degree of bone marrow suppression and improve the quality of life of patients.
