Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Jianpi Yifei tang and point application combined with routine therapy on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in stable stage. Methods：A total of 106 cases of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in stable stage were selected for prospective study and divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method. Both groups were treated with routine symptomatic treatment，and the study group was additionally treated with Jianpi Yifei tang combined with point application. Both groups were treated for two months and followed up for half a year by outpatient and telephone. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment， the changes of pulmonary function including forced vital capacity(FVC)， forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1)，and the ratio of forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC) in the two groups were observed. During treatment and follow- up， the changes of times of acute exacerbation and CAT scores in the two groups were compared. Results： The total clinical effective rate was 98.11% in the study group， and was 86.79% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of FVC，FEV1 and FEV1/FVC in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment， and the above three levels in the study group were higher than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). During treatment and follow-up，the times of acute exacerbation and the CAT score in the study group were lower than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Jianpi Yifei tang and point application combined with routine therapy has a good curative effect on patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in stable stage， which can effectively improve their lung function，reduce the times of acute exacerbation and improve their quality of life.
