Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Juhong capsules combined with eucalyptol，limonene and pinene enteric soft capsules for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods： A total of 86 cases of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method， 43 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatments including oxygen inhalation， antiinfection， resolving phlegm and calming panting. The observation group was additionally given Juhong capsules combined with eucalyptol，limonene and pinene enteric soft capsules based on the treatment of the control group. The disappearance time of clinical symptoms was observed and compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment，the changes in the lung function [forced vital capacity(FVC)，forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1)，the percentage of predicated value of FEV1(FEV1%)，peak expiratory flow(PEF)]，as well as levels of T-lymphocyte subsets(CD3+，CD4+，CD8+，and CD4+/ CD8 + ) and inflammatory factors in serum [procalcitonin(PCT)， tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α)， intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1)] were observed and compared between the two groups. Results：Before treatment，when compared levels of FVC，FEV1，FEV1%，and PEF between the two groups，there was no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). After treatment， levels of FVC， FEV1， FEV1% ， and PEF in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and each index above in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， when compared levels of CD3 + ， CD4 + ， CD8 + ， and CD4 +/CD8 + between the two groups， there was no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). After treatment， levels of CD3 + ， CD4 + ， and CD4 +/CD8 + in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the level of CD8 + was increased(P＜0.05)； the improvement of the indexes above in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment，when compared levels of PCT，TNF-α，and ICAM-1 between the two groups，there was no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). After treatment， levels of PCT， TNF- α， and ICAM- 1 in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the three levels above in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). The disappearance time of the lung rales，cough，and expectoration in the observation group was earlier than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：In the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease，the therapy of Juhong capsules combined with eucalyptol，limonene and pinene enteric soft capsules can effectively improve the lung function，enhance immune function，relieve inflammatory responses，and rapidly alleviate clinical symptoms.
