Abstract：This paper introduces the experience of YE Liqun using ointment to treat infertility by regulating menstruation and promoting pregnancy. Prof. YE believes that kidney deficiency is the basis of infertility，and the treatment of it should be regulating the liver，spleen and kidney simultaneously. The basic principles are：to regulate yin and yang from the key aspect of tonifying the kidney； to protect the spleen and stomach from the sub- key aspect of soothing the liver； to regulate conception vessel and thoroughfare vessel based on simultaneous treatment of unblocking and supplementing； and taking western medicine diagnosis as references based on Chinese medicine. He advocates that physicians should make full use of the characteristics of the ointment，such as comprehensive consideration，slow force and long- going effect，easiness to bring， good taste and so on， and differentiate and prescribe according to different constitutions of patients， so that the pregnancy can be promoted thanks to normal menstruation and contained essence.
