Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of Buzhong Yiqi Guben tang on adverse reactions and quality of life in patients with syndrome of spleen- qi deficiency after chemotherapy. Methods:A total of 68 cancer patients with with syndrome of spleen- qi deficiency were selected for prospective study, and were randomly divided into study group and control group according to random number table method,34 cases in each group. The control group was given the basic treatment after chemotherapy, and the study group was additionally given Buzhong Yiqi Guben tang for treatment for one month. After treatment,the Chinese medicine syndrome in the two groups were scored and the effect was determined. The degree of cancer-related fatigue,level of quality of life and health state of patients in both groups were evaluated and analyzed,and the incidence of nausea and vomiting was counted. Results:After treatment,the clinical effect in the study group was better than that in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in Chinese medicine syndrome scores between the two groups(P<0.05). After treatment,the Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the Chinese medicine syndrome score in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment,there was no significant difference in scores of general fatigue,physical fatigue,psychological fatigue,emotional fatigue,vitality and the total score of multidimensional fatigue symptom inventory-short form(MFSI-SF) between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment,the above scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the vitality score of the control group was lower than that before treatment (P < 0.05) , the vitality score of the study group was higher than that before treatment(P<0.05), and the vitality score of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P< 0.05). Before treatment,there was no significant difference in kanofsky performance score(KPS) and functional assessment of cancer therapy-general(FACT-G) scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment,KPS and FACT-G scores in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and those in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of nausea and vomiting was 47.06% in the study group and 73.53% in the control group,the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:Buzhong Yiqi Guben tang can improve the signs of qi deficiency and weakness after chemotherapy, improve cancer- induced fatigue, relieve anxiety, vomiting, sleep disorders and other adverse reactions,and improve the quality of life of patients with syndrome of spleen-qi deficiency.
