Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of external application with Bingxiao powder in adjuvant treatment of complicated tibial plateau fracture，and its effect on postoperative swelling degree and coagulation indexes. Methods：A total of 85 cases of patients with complicated tibial plateau fracture were randomly divided into the study group and the control group， 43 and 42 cases in each group respectively. The control group was given routine postoperative treatment and rehabilitation guidance，and the study group was additionally treated with external application with Bingxiao powder based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for seven days. After treatment，the clinical effect in the two groups was compared，and the swelling degree of knee joint，coagulation function and knee joint function of the affected limbs in the two groups were compared and analyzed. During treatment，the incidences of adverse reactions were observed and recorded. Results：The total effective rate of treatment was 93.02% in the study group and 83.33% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of swelling degrees of knee joint between the two groups(P＞0.05)；after treatment，the swelling degrees of knee joint in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the degree in the study group was fewer than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，prothrombin time(PT)、activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT) in the study group were less than those in the control group，and the fibrinogen(Fib) level was lower，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of pain，stiffness and knee joint dysfunction as well as the total score in the study group were lower than those in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). During treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of incidence of complications including incision infection， stiff joint and traumatic arthritis between the two groups(P＞0.05). Conclusion：The external application with Bingxiao powder in adjuvant treatment of complicated tibial plateau fracture has better curative effect，and can relieve swelling degree of knee joint，and improve knee joint function.
