Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Bushen Jieyu tang for climacteric syndrome of kidney deficiency and liver depression type. Methods：A total of 98 cases of patients with climacteric syndrome of kidney deficiency and liver depression type were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，49 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Gengnian'an pills，and the observation group was treated with Bushen Jieyu tang. After 12- week treatment，scores of modified Kupperman scale at different time points of treatment were observed and compared between the two groups；levels of reproductive endocrine hormone and blood lipid in serum in the two groups were analyzed before and after treatment. Results：Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of modified Kupperman scores between the two groups(P＞0.05). When compared with those before treatment，the modified Kupperman scores in the two groups showed a downward trend after one week， four weeks and twelve weeks of treatment， differences being significant(P＜0.05)； the modified Kupperman score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of E2，LH，and FSH between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，levels of E2 in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and levels of LH and FSH were decreased(P＜ 0.05)； the improvement of the three indexes above in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment，when compared levels of LDL-C，HDL-C，TG，and TC between the two groups，there was no significance being found in the difference(P＞0.05). After treatment， levels of LDL- C， TG， and TC in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and HDL- C level in the two groups were increased(P＜0.05)；the improvement of the four indexes above in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Bushen Jiuyu tang has a significant effect in the treatment of climacteric syndrome of kidney deficiency and liver depression type. It can effectively relieve symptoms of menopause， improve levels of sex hormones in serum and blood lipid.
