Abstract： The curative effect of Chinese medicine on diarrhea- type irritable bowel syndrome is definite`， but the mechanism of exerting curative effect is not completely clear，which hinders the promotion of Chinese medicine. In recent years，it has been found that the brain-enterobacterial axis plays a very important role in the pathogenesis of diarrhea-type irritable bowel syndrome， which provides a reliable modern theoretical basis for the further study of Chinese medicine treatment of the disease. Based on this theory，the paper summarizes the experimental research of Chinese medicine in this field in recent five years，so as to provide a new idea for clinical treatment.
