Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Xiaoyao powder combined with acupuncture on children with Tourette syndrome. Methods: A total of 100 children with Tourette syndrome were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,50 cases in each group. The control group was given Tiopride hydrochloride tablets, and the observation group was treated with Xiaoyao powder combined with acupuncture. The clinical effect, the score of Yale Global Tie Severityb Scale(YGTSS) before and after treatment and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 98.00% in the observation group, and 80.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no different significance in the comparison of motor tics score, vocal tic score and the total score of YGTSS between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, motor tic score, vocal tic score and the total score of YGTSS in the two groups were decreased significantly when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in observation group was 4.00% , lower than that of 18.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of Xiaoyao powder combined with acupuncture has a significant effect on treating children with Tourette syndrome, which can significantly improve the conditions of motor tic and vocal tic in them, and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
