Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicine comprehensive therapy based on the thought of harmony on depression- related sleep disorder. Methods: A total of 83 patients with depression- related sleep disorder of phlegm- fire harassing the upper body type were collected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to random number table method,45 cases and 38 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with flupentixol meritracine tablets, and the observation group was treated with Chinese medicine comprehensive therapy based on the thought of harmony(Chaihu Shengjiang tang, acupuncture and pressing auricular points with magnetic bead). The scores of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD) were compared between the two groups after two weeks and four weeks of treatment, and the scores of the Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74(GQOLI-74) were compared between the two groups after four weeks of treatment. Results:After two weeks of treatment, the PSQI scores in the observation group were decreased significantly, differences being significant(P<0.05). After four weeks of treatment, the PSQI scores in both groups were decreased, and the decrease was more obvious in the observation group; compared with that in the control group at the same period, differences were significant(P<0.01). After two weeks of treatment, the HAMD scores in the two groups were compared with those before treatment, differences being significant (P<0.05). The HAMD score in the control group was lower than that in the observation group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After four weeks of treatment, the HAMD scores in the two groups were compared with those before treatment, the difference being significant(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). After four weeks of treatment, there were significant differences in GQOLI- 74 scores when compared with those before treatment respectively(P<0.05), and there were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05). After four weeks of treatment, routine tests of blood, urine, stool, liver function, kidney function and electrolyte were performed in both groups, and no significant abnormalities were found. Conclusion: Chinese medicine comprehensive therapy based on the thought of harmony can improve the sleep quality and enhance the life quality of patients with depression- related sleep disorder of phlegm-fire harassing the upper body type.
