Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of pulse- taking acupuncture method for patients with mild to moderate depression due to infertility. Methods:A total of 62 cases of patients were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method, 31 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with pulse-taking acupuncture method, and the control group was given routine acupuncture method. Both groups were treated for eight weeks. Before and after eight-week treatment respectively,Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression-24 items(HAMD- 24) and World Health Organization Quality of Life(WHOQOL- BREF) were applied to score in the two groups. The curative effect in the two groups was compared. Results: After eight- week treatment, the total effective rate was 100% in the treatment group, higher than that of 90.3% in the control group, but there was no significant difference being found in the comparison between the two groups(P>0.05). The HAMD-24 scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, differences being significant(P<0.05). The HAMD-24 score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). The scores of physical domain, psychological domain, social relation domain and environmental domain in WHOQOL- BREF in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment, differences being significant(P<0.05). The scores of the above four domains in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:Compared with routine acupuncture method,pulse-taking acupuncture method for patients with infertility can more effectively improve the depression and quality of life.
