Abstract： Under the guidance of Chinese medicine theory， discusses the etiology， pathogenesis， clinical staging， syndrome differentiation typing，and medication rule of gouty arthritis in Lingnan area. Ten methods to eliminate impediment are summarized， including six methods of internal treatment(transporting， activating， eliminating， promoting sweating， draining， purging) and four methods of external treatment(needling， application， cooling method， warming method)， which can provide a reference for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of gouty arthritis.
