Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of point massage combined with Chinese medicine emotional nursing on nutrition and gastrointestinal function after operation for colon cancer. Methods：A total of 48 cases of patients after operation for colon cancer were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the double- blind randomized method， 24 cases in each group. The control group was intervened with Chinese medicine emotional nursing， and the observation group was additionally intervened with point massage based on the treatment of the control group. The nutritional levels，recovery of gastrointestinal function，nursing satisfaction and incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were observed and compared. Results：Before nursing，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of Alb，PA and Hb between the two groups(P＞0.05)；after nursing，the levels of Alb，PA and Hb in the observation group were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the levels were higher than those in the control group(P＞0.05)；there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the above levels in the control group before and after treatment(P＞0.05). The anal exhaust time，time of gastric tube extraction，and time of recovery general diet in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). The nursing satisfaction was 95.83% in the observation group and 75.00% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). The incidence of loss of appetite and sleep disorder in the observation group was lower than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Point massage combined with Chinese medicine emotional nursing intervention has obvious advantages for patients with colon cancer，which can improve the nursing satisfaction of patients， improve the recovery of nutrition and gastrointestinal function，and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
