Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Bazhen tang combined with routine treatment for rehabilitation after total hip arthroplasty. Methods:A total of 82 cases of patients with femoral neck fracture of Garden Ⅲ type were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,41 cases in each group. Both groups were given total hip arthroplasty; the control group was given routine postoperative treatment, including rehabilitation nursing training, anticoagulation, anti- infection and other treatment measures; the observation group was additionally treated with modified Bazhen tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were observed and treated for three months. The Harris scores of hip joint function and the levels of bone mineral density(BMD) and blood calcium before and after treatment as well as fracture healing time after treatment in the two groups were compared. The clinical effect was calculated after 12 months of follow-up. Results:The excellent and good rate of function recovery of hip joint was 90.24% in the observation group and 68.29% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the fracture healing time in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of Harris scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,Harris scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and Harris score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P< 0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of BMD and blood calcium in anterial position of lumbar spine (L2-4) and right calcaneus in the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,BMD levels in the two groups were significantly increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and blood calcium levels were significantly decreased(P<0.05); the improvement of the levels of BMD and blood calcium in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Modified Bazhen tang combined with routine treatment for patients after total hip arthroplasty can promote their fracture healing and function recovery of hip joint, enhance the clinical effect and improve osteoporosis.
