Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of Chinese herbal decoction combined with point application on clinical symptoms， sleep quality and quality of life in patients with allergic rhinitis. Methods： A total of 92 cases of patients with allergic rhinitis were divided into the control group and the combination group according to the random number table method， 46 cases in each group. The control group was treated with point application， and the combination group was additionally treated with Yupingfeng powder and Guizhi tang based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect in the two groups was evaluated. Before and after treatment，the Total Nasal Symptom Score(TNSS) and the scores of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) and Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire(RQLQ) in the two groups were analyzed. Results： After treatment， the total effective rate was 97.83% in the combination group and 78.26% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the scores of nasal obstruction， runny nose， nasal itching and sneezing in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above scores in the combination group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the scores of sleep quality， time before falling asleep，sleep time，sleep efficiency，sleep disorders，hypnotic drugs and day and night dysfunction as well as the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above scores in the combination group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of activity，sleep，non-rhinitis symptoms，practical problems，nasal symptoms，ocular symptoms and emotional evaluation as well as the total scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above scores in the combination group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Chinese herbal decoction combined with point application for patients with allergic rhinitis has significant effect， and can significantly improve their clinical symptoms，sleep quality and quality of life.
