Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicine fumigation combined with iguratimod for rheumatoid arthritis at active stage. Methods:A total of 96 cases of patients with rheumatoid arthritis at active stage were divided into the fumigation group and the routine group according to odd-even number grouping method,48 cases in each group. The routine group was treated with iguratimod, and the fumigation group was additionally treated with fumigation with Chinese medicine as an adjuvant therapy based on the treatment of the routine group. After treatment, the clinical effect was observed in the two groups. Results: After treatment, the total clinical effective rate was 95.83% in the fumigation group and 81.25% in the routine group, the difference being significant between the two groups(P<0.05).The tender joint count, swollen joint count, the time of morning stiffness and scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the four indexes in the fumigation group were all lower than those in the routine group(P<0.05). After treatment, levels of laboratory indicators of rheumatism, namely rheumatoid factor(RF),C-reactive protein(CRP),and erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the three indicators in the fumigation group were lower than those in the routine group(P<0.05).After treatment, levels of interleukin-1β(IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the two levels in the fumigation group were lower than those in the routine group(P<0.05). Conclusion: In the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis at active stage, compared with the simple use of iguratimod, the therapy of Chinese medicine fumigation combined with iguratimod can better improve the clinical effect, relieve clinical symptoms and pain, improve laboratory indicators, and alleviate inflammatory factor responses in serum. It can be used as an effective adjuvant therapy for the clinical treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
