Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Wangbi tablets combined with meloxicam for knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Methods:A total of 60 cases of KOA patients were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group, 30 cases in each group. The control group was given meloxicam, and the treatment group was additionally given Wangbi tablets based on the treatment of the control group. After eight-week treatment, the clinical effect was observed in the two groups; Chinese medicine syndrome scores and score of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) for evaluating pain before and after treatment were compared in the two groups. Results: The total effective rate was 93.33% in the treatment group, and 80.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of Chinese medicine syndrome scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of VAS between the two groups(P> 0.05). After treatment, scores of VAS in the two groups were significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of Wangbi tablets combined with meloxicam can effectively enhance clinical effect and relieve clinical symptoms in the treatment of KOA.
