Abstract： Objective： To observe the curative effect of Buyang Huanwu tang in postoperative rehabilitation of carpal tunnel syndrome. Methods：A total of 80 cases of patients after operation for carpal tunnel syndrome were selected as the research objects，and were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group，40 cases in each group. After operation， the control group was routinely given the oral administration of mecobalamine， and the observation group was additionally treated with Buyang Huanwu tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 24 weeks. Before operation，at four weeks after operation and 24 weeks after operation respectively，the pain degrees in the two groups were evaluated by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)； the hand function in the two groups was evaluated by the functional evaluation standard of carpal tunnel syndrome. Results：Compared with those before operation，the VAS scores at four weeks and 24 weeks after operation in the two groups were decreased(P＜0.05)， and hand function scores were increased(P＜0.05). At four weeks and 24 weeks after operation respectively，the VAS scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05)， and the hand function scores were higher(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The application of Buyang Huanwu tang in postoperative rehabilitation of carpal tunnel syndrome can effectively relieve postoperative pain of patients and promote functional recovery.
