Abstract： Objective： To discuss the effect of compound Chansu pills in adjuvant treatment of ulcer of carbuncle and furuncle. Methods：A total of 98 cases of patients divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，with 49 cases in each group. The control group was treated with western medicine，and the observation group was additionally treated with compound Chansu pills based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for seven days. The curative effect， the changes in related Chinese medicine symptom scores， the blood indexes including white blood cell count(WBC) and percentage of neutrophil(NEU% ) and the adverse reactions during treatment in the two groups were compared. Results：The total effective rates were 100% in both groups，but the clinical effect between the two groups showed significant difference(P＜0.05)，and the curative effect in the observation group was better than that in the control group. Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparisons of scores of lesion range，color，swelling，fever，pain and other Chinese medicine symptoms between the two groups(P＞ 0.05). After treatment，the above scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜ 0.05)，and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference in the levels of WBC and neu% between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the levels of WBC and neu% in the two groups were lower than before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the two indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). During treatment，no serious adverse drug reactions occurred in both groups. Conclusion：Compound Chansu pills assisting western medicine for carbuncle and furuncle can improve the clinical efficacy and effectively improve the symptoms，with high medication safety.
