Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Yinxingye pills combined with quetiapine fumarate tablets for schizophrenia. Methods：A total of 90 cases of patients with schizophrenia were divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method， 45 cases in each group. The control group was given quetiapine fumarate tablets，and the study group was additionally given Yinxingpian based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were continuously treated for 12 weeks. Before treatment，after 6-week and 12-week treatment，scores of Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS) of schizophrenia and Wechsler Memory Scale(WMS- RS) were observed and compared in the two groups；the clinical effect and incidence of adverse reactions were counted in the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 88.89% in the study group and 82.22% in the control group，there being no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). Before treatment， when compared positive symptoms， negative symptoms， psychopathological scores and the total score of PANSS between the two groups， there was no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). After treatment，the total score and each score of PANSS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and each score in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， when compared scores of recognition， images， association and digit span between the two groups， there was no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). After treatment， each score of WMS- RS in the two groups was increased when compared with that before treatment(P＜0.05)；the scores in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P＜ 0.05). During treatment，there was no adverse reaction occurring in the two groups. Conclusion：The therapy of Yinxingye pills combined quetiapine fumarate tablets in the treatment of schizophrenia can improve clinical symptoms and cognitive function of patients，whose effect is better than that of simple western medicine.
