Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Yupingfeng granules in the adjuvant treatment of chronic cough in children. Methods:A total of 103 cases of children with chronic cough were selected and divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method, 51 and 52 cases in each group respectively. The control group was routinely treated with antihistamine drugs, antibiotics, glucocorticoid or leukotriene receptor antagonist; the study group was additionally treated with Yupingfeng granules based on the treatment of the control group. After two months of treatment, the clinical effect in the two groups was assessed;the levels of interferon-γ(IFN-γ),tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α ) , interleukin-13(IL-13) , eosinophil count(EOS) and eosinophilic cationic protein(ECP) in serum were measured. Results:The total effective rate was 94.12% in the study group and 88.46% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). The total scores of Chinese medicine syndromes in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the total score in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of IFN- γ in the two groups were higher than those before treatment(P<0.05), and the levels of TNF- α,IL- 13,EOS and ECP were lower(P<0.05);the improvement of the above indexes in the study group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusions: The adjuvant treatment of Yupingfeng granules for chronic cough in children has good clinical effect, and can effectively relieve cough, improve Th1/Th2 immune balance in children, and reduce the contents of ECP and EOS in serum.
