Effect of Emotional Nursing of Chinese Medicine Combined with Diet Adjustment on Mental Status and Nutritional Status of Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy of Lymphoma
Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of emotional nursing of Chinese medicine combined with diet adjustment on mental status and nutritional status of patients undergoing chemotherapy of lymphoma. Methods: A total of 92 cases of patients who received chemotherapy of lymphoma were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, 46 cases in each group. The control group was given routine diet nursing, and the observation group was additionally given emotional nursing of Chinese medicine and diet adjustment based on the treatment of the control group. The scores of Selfrating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Self- rating Depression Scale(SDS) before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Intake of different kinds of nutrients and score of quality of life before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results: After intervention, scores of SAS and SDS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before intervention(P<0.05),and the two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After intervention, intake of calorie, carbohydrate, and protein in the observation group was larger than that in the control group, and fat intake was smaller, differences being significant(P<0.05). After intervention, scores of quality of life, such as cognitive function, psychological function, physical function, and material life in the two groups were increased when compared with those before intervention(P<0.05),and each score of quality of life in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: In the intervention of patients undergoing chemotherapy of lymphoma, the therapy of emotional nursing of Chinese medicine combined with diet adjustment conduces to improving nutrient intake, enhancing quality of life, and relieving negative emotions.
