Clinical Study on Wentong Ointment Combined with Point Massage for Prevention of Induration Caused by Intramuscular Progesterone Injection for Fetal Protection
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Wentong ointment combined with point massage on preventing induration caused by intramuscular progesterone injection for fetal protection. Methods:A total of 100 pregnant women who was intramuscularly injected with progesterone for fetal protection were divided into the control group and the observation group by random parallel control method,50 cases in each group. In the control group, the injection site was heated before injection, and the observation group was additionally applied with Wentong ointment combined with point massage based on the treatment of the control group. The incidence and degree of induration, score of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) on local injection site, incidence of early abortion, clinical effect and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The incidence of injection site induration was 14.00% in the observation group, significantly lower than that of 38.00% in the control group (P<0.05). The VAS score on injection site in the observation group was (2.89±0.35) points, lower than that of (4.57±0.42) points in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of early abortion in the observation group was 4.00%,lower than that of 18.00% in the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 96.00% in the observation group, higher than that of 76.00% in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 14.00% , lower than that of 42.00% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Wentong ointment combined with point massage can prevent the induration caused by intramuscular progesterone injection for fetal protection, and reduce the pain at the injection site, incidence of early abortion and adverse reactions.
