Effect of Compound Kushen Injection Combined with Chemotherapy Drugs on Immune Function and Serum Tumor Markers in Patients with Cervical Cancer at Middle and Late Stage
Abstract: Objective: To discuss the effect of compound Kushen injection combined with chemotherapy drugs on immune function and serum tumor markers in patients with cervical cancer at middle and late stage. Methods:A total of 67 cases of patients with cervical cancer at middle and late stage were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, 34 and 33 cases in each group respectively. The control group was given radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and the observation group was additionally treated with compound Kushen injection based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three courses,28 days being one course. The immune function and the levels of serum tumor markers in the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results:Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the CD3 + , CD4 + and CD4 +/CD8 + ratio of the observation group were significantly increased, while the CD4 +/CD8 + ratio of the control group was significantly decreased(P<0.05). After treatment, the cell levels of immune function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of CEA and CA125 in serum between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of CEA and CA125 in serum in the two groups were decreased, and the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of compound Kushen injection combined with chemotherapy drugs can significantly improve the immune function in patients with cervical cancer at middle and late stage, reduce the levels of serum tumor markers including CEA and CA125,and improve their quality of life.
